Quick overview

Pigmentation at a glance

Hyperpigmentation is extra pigment in patches of skin, from sun damage, hormones or past breakouts. Colette works out the likely cause, then combines studio treatments with skincare and sun protection at home. Pigment fades gradually and can return without daily sun protection.

Safety first

Is this the right plan for you?

Some pigment, including melasma, can darken if treated too aggressively, so Colette starts gently and builds up. Peels and microneedling may be deferred during pregnancy or nursing, with active cold sores or a skin infection, or after recent sun exposure. Any new, changing or irregular spot should be checked by a doctor first. Call the studio at (480) 935-6775 with any questions.

Questions

Asked and answered

Will my pigmentation go away completely?

It often fades a great deal, but some pigment, especially melasma, is managed rather than cured. Colette will be honest about what to expect.

Usually a series, spaced over several weeks. Colette will suggest a plan for your skin.

Sun exposure triggers pigment, so without daily SPF results fade and spots can return.

Yes, carefully. Melasma needs a gentle approach and good skincare at home, and it can return.

Any new, changing or irregular spot should be checked by a doctor before cosmetic treatment.
