5 Everyday Habits For Better Skin From The Inside Out

If I could hand every client one page before their first appointment, this would be it. None of it is exciting. All of it works better than the serum you saw on TikTok.

Sleep is the cheapest treatment I know

Skin repairs itself overnight. That isn’t marketing, it’s the reason we see barrier recovery slow down in people who are chronically short on rest. Seven hours is the number where I stop seeing the difference in the treatment room. Below six, everything else you do has to work harder.

Protein, unglamorously

Collagen is protein. If you’re under-eating protein (very common, especially in women over forty), you’re asking your body to build something without the raw material. I’d rather you fix breakfast than buy a collagen powder.

“The clients whose results last longest aren’t the ones with the biggest routines. They’re the ones who sleep, eat, and wear sunscreen.”

In the treatment room

Sunscreen, every single day

Not just in summer, not just outdoors. Ninety percent of visible ageing is photoageing, and it accumulates on cloudy Tuesdays exactly the way it does on a beach. Find a mineral SPF you don’t hate the feel of, keep it next to your toothbrush, and stop thinking about it.

Stress shows up on your face

Cortisol drives inflammation, inflammation drives breakouts and flares, and the whole loop feeds itself. I’m not going to tell you to meditate. I will tell you that the walk, the boundary, or the earlier bedtime is doing more for your skin than another acid.

Consistency beats intensity

Three products used every night for a year will outperform nine products used enthusiastically for three weeks. This is the whole reason my shelf is short: I’d rather you actually finish the bottle.
